Those present were Jim Moore Chairman, Bob Donham Committee member, Jess Starkey Mayor, Jack DeSalvo Police Chief, Clair Simpson Fire Chief, Mark Manlove Village Solicitor & Scott Garrett Committee member was absent attending a High School Sports Banquet as coach.

The minutes for the May Safety meeting were read and Approved.

Police Chief DeSalvo reported the following:
There were suspects arrested for the Dairy Mart robbery on May 20, 2005 who were not Windham residents. The Kent Police Dept helped to arrest the suspects by doing surveillance using the Dairy Mart camera and other cameras where similar robberies occurred. The store clerk had pushed the panic button, which notified authorities but does not go directly to the Village Police station. Chief DeSalvo said consideration needs to be given to changing the Ordinance to provide faster notification alarm to the Police Station. The storeowners conceded to have at least two (2) clerks working after 10:00pm at night.

Two (2) tasers were purchased with the money donated by Mrs. Beldon. A demonstration is planned for the next Safety meeting on July 5th at 6pm. The cost for the tasers and extra cartridges was approx. $1,800.00.

A grant for the generator can be applied for by the Fire Dept. through Homeland Security by Stacy Brown who wrote the grant for the new tanker could help write the generator grant. Committee Chairman Moore said that the grant application would have to be approved by Council.

There are things the Fire Dept. does relative to the fire and squad calls which Chief DeSalvo does not know about and he suggested that Clair meet with and the dispatchers to discuss them.

Fire Chief Simpson reported the following:
Certain repairs and insurance on vehicles that the grant for turn out gear was turned down. That tornado alarm/warning will be in the newspaper this week or next week to notify resident as to the type of alarm and the date and time of the alarm demonstration.
